The School of Art & Design resides within 2 different buildings on campus. Parties will be able to tour one or both buildings depending on availability.
Joann Cole Mitte (JCM):
The Joann Cole Mitte (JCM) building is the main hub for the School of Art & Design, housing studio spaces for ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, drawing, and metals. It also hosts programs for Art History, Art Education, and Communication Design, and features the Texas State Galleries in the main lobby.
Sabinal:
The Sabinal building is dedicated to the photography program, featuring high-end facilities like a darkroom, photo labs, and lighting studios. It houses the Sabinal Galleries, showcasing brilliant work by both students and guest artists.
*Our JCM and Sabinal buildings are located in 2 different locations on campus. If choosing to tour both facilities, please prepare your party to wear shoes comfortable for walking. You will be unable to move your vehicle from your initial parking location.
